Issue with installation of Service Packs

Hi, on this site claimed that WPI 2.0 will install the latest version of SQL Server 2008 Express with Service Pack 1. But after end of the installation I've checked versions of SQL Server on Microsoft Update Site and received result that no Service Pack 1 installed. So, can you check, why WPI 2.0 RTM doesn't install version with Service Pack and we need to download and install them separately? Thanks. Windows XP Pro SP3 + all updates.

Do you still have a URL of the site that showed you that you dont have SP1 installed?
WebPI will automatically install the latest SQL Server with SP1. Can you please run the following query to verify that you have SP1 installed:

SELECT SERVERPROPERTY('productversion'), SERVERPROPERTY ('productlevel'), SERVERPROPERTY ('edition')

The result should be something like:

    10.0.2531.0 SP1 Express Edition

    Thanks,

Actually, I've instaled already SP1 for SQL Server 2008 Express Edition, but I can completely uninstall all WPI application, including all updates and re-run process а WPI installation and check version of SQL at реу and of operation. OK? I'll do it in some hours.

Re: Issue with installation of Service Packs

I have completely removed all WPI apllications, cleande files & registry with CCleaner 2.23 and reinstalled SQL Server 2008 Express. Then I runed your query and received the same answer as you. But, when I check my system with Microsoft Update they suggest me to install «Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Service Pack 1 (KB968369)». You can see it on screenshot: Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us I think it's a little bit strange, if WPI installs latest version of SQL Server, including SP1, so why MS Update still suggests me to installl update KB968369? May be there is an issue in MS Update or I'm doing something wrong? Could you explan me? Thanks.

Can somebody tell me if this behavior of Microsoft Update site is correct to suggest to me to install SP1 for SQL Server 2008 to version installed by WPI 2.0? Thanks.
