    Setting up multiple website error

     Hello there.

Need help here. I am currently running a website in IIS7 and windows server2008. I decided to add another website the same ip address and the same port(80) but different headers.

For example my existing website is websiteOne.com, and I added another website named websiteTwo.com

But everytime when I check the websiteTwo in browser, it always bring me to the websiteone.com pages. How could it be? Those two websites are pointing to different physical directories where the corresponding website files and pages are located.

Please help me with this problem.

    Thanks

If they point at differnet servers then it is likely to be a DNS problem. Make sure websitetwo.com resolve to the correct server. You can use an online tool like www.dnsstuff.com to help you.

    Try this:

This is the link for my existing website: http://pinoybpo.com
There's the link of my newly added website: http://healthcaresupportstrategies.com.

Everytime I go to http://healthcaresupportstrategies.com, the page that shows is the home page of the http://pinoybpo.com.

The files of the two website are located in one drive but in diferrent folders in the same server.

They both uses the same ip and same port(80). The only difference is the header. Note: our server only hosts our website, nothing more.

Re: Setting up multiple website error

Sorry guys. I'm new in maintaining IIS.

Our server is a dedicated server. Website doesn't work with headers. My default website (http://pinoybpo.com) doesn't have a header specified. Only the ip and the port.

The only way I know for my second website(http://healthcaresupportstrategies.com) to work with the default website is to specify their headers. But it really doesn't work. I need to make these two websites working using the same ip and port with different headers.

Please help me. Thanks a lot.

" They both uses the same ip and same port(80)."

They do not. It is a DNS problem.

    pinoybpo.com. 68.180.151.74

    healthcaresupportstrategies.com. 98.136.92.79

When it resolves the hosts name to the IP address it resolves to completely different numbers.

I presume that  pinoybpo.com. 68.180.151.74 is correct so get healthcaresupportstrategies.com.to point to that IP.

At the moment it is not getting to your server. There most be some other redirection on healthcaresupportstrategies.com. You want to control this.

Contact the people that hold your domain registration to fix this.

At the moment it is not an IIS isue.

Re: Setting up multiple website error

But my host's server ip is 202.71.177.19. I requested those who hold my domain registration to point it to that ip. My default website (pinoybpo.com) uses that ip and it is working. We registered a new domain which is the healthcaresupportstrategies.com and have it pointed again to the same ip. And the problem occured.

Why is the pinoybpo.com uses 68.180.151.74 while we requested that domain to be pointed to our server's ip (202.71.177.19)?

I cannot guess your setup. Pinging your domain name resolves to another IP address (yahoo cloud?) to what you say here.

Your pinoybo.com website website resolves to p2p.geo.vip.sp1.yahoo.com  (68.180.151.74)

You will need to talk to your network people who set this up to know why this is the case.
