    installation of IIS

Need to install IIS to be able to run SQL 2005.  When I go to add windows components and select IIS the install starts and then stops and is looking for files that do exist in the I386 folder.  If I try to install from the original xp SP2 cd I have the same problem.  Is there somewhere on Microsoft site to download IIS install program.

no it is not available on any microsoft sites... have you installed any service pack after installing the OS .. ?? You might be having the media that do not have the files needed...

Check the C:\WINDOWS\$NtServicePackUninstall$ folder for those files... this is not recommended ... but just to check... dont do it on a prod box...

    Re: installation of IIS

The Orinigal install was xp SP2 and the disk I am using is that disk.  I think xp was updated to SP3 but that was through windows update and I don't have the disk for that.  Is there somewhere I can find the SP3 download that I could try to install from that.

SO what you think that problem is is that the files that it is looking for are files that might have been changed do to SP3 update.

Thnak you for the help I will try that when I get home tonight.
