    Could not connect to the specified computer

    Hi, I was able to configure WMSVC on the remote server successfully, also added user access and all, but on my client Machine I'm receiving the error below, btw the firewall is currently disabled for both machines. Can you advice what's the error is referring to, Could not connect to the specified computer Details: The underlying connection was closed: The connection was closed unexpectedly. regards Dom

    1.) Check if you are able to ping the target machine

    2.) Is your website running on the local machine.... ??

    Hi, 1. Yes I was able to receive ping reply from the target machine, I'm using its public IP as computer name 2. The live site runs on the remote server where I would like to connect to while the production code lies on my local machine. any idea's on what the error refer to? regards Dom

    Can u check the IIS log file at %systemdrive%\inetpub\

    Check what is the status and sub-status code for those requests?

    Hi, Well I found two folders under log, Log files and wmsvc, I checked files under those folders but what am I to look for? I notice the logs are all from browser request but I can seem to find a request coming from my local IIS. regards Dom

    If the Startup type for the Web Mgmt service (WMSVC) is not set to Automatic, it could be that the service was stopped the last time patches were applied and the server was rebooted. Check the Services on the server and if the Web Mgmt service is Stopped, change it to Started and make sure the Automatic setting is chosen.
