HTTP Cache + Live + Smooth Streaming

    Hello,

We are looking to implement a Live + smooth streaming solutions with inlet encoders.

The question is; What type of Edge http cache servers can we use the this set-up?

Can it be a "normal" cache like squid, or any other open source ones or do we have to stick to Windows, in order to delivery the chunked videos?

     Thank you

While you can use any http cache proxy to cache responses for live smooth streaming, ARRv2 does allow you to consolidate multiple simultaneous requests to live smooth streaming, leading to a even higher cache hit rate - you can read about this feature at http://learn.iis.net/page.aspx/654/configure-request-consolidation-feature-in-application-request-routing/
