Which tools would you set up/recommend?

OK so let's say you are bringing in an app developer who really knows a lot about PhP apps in an Apache environment but knows much less about IIS and the command-line tools available for deployment and ongoing management.  What would you recommend they adopt as their new best friend(s)?  Web Management Service, PowerShell, something(s) else?

All of the above, plus get to know the GUI.  Apache/Linux is a command line world (okay, Unix is, most Linux distros are GUI heavy...) but Windows has always been a GUI environment.

Pretty much, I end up using multiple options, Appcmd is a major tool, as is Powershell.  I rarely use the web management service, but have a lot of scripts in VB Script that use WMI.  Your experience may vary of course.  :)
