    Re: No specialists here?

If you noticed from the download page, Windows Media 2008 is supported in several ways.

If you need more than forum-based support, you can open a case via http://support.microsoft.com

    Based on http://www.iis.net/downloads/files/media/smoothstream_readme.htm,

"Smooth Streaming is included in IIS Media Services 2.0".

So feel free to open a case if you like.

    Re: No specialists here?

We are looking for a consultant who can work with us. We have a dedicated server running IIS 7.0 and Windows 2008.

We have .Net web designers who are building a site for us. They are using CMS by Kinteco(sp?).

We want to stream basic audio and video files. We want to support Flash as well as Silverlight, etc.

Our web designer is not knowledgeable in this area. Any help in our search to hire a consultant is greatly appreciated.

    Re: No specialists here?

    Hi, Jenifer,

Do you wish to deliver a video library (whether new or existing content) to both Flash and Silverlight clients as progressive downloads?  If so, I would recommend using Bit Rate Throttling (www.iis.net/extensions/BitRateThrottling), which is very simple to configure on IIS.  This provides a streaming-like experience, but with the simplicity and cost benefits of a Web download.

If you are looking for something else, please define the scenario a bit more, so we can point you in the right direction.
