    IIS 7.0 Manager for Remote Administration - Download Error

     Hi,

    I went to the following link:  http://www.iis.net/go/1626

    to download: IIS 7.0 Manager for Remote Administration

    But it gave me the following error: 

    HTTP Error 404.0 - Not Found

    Is there any other place from where I can get the download, or someone can put the file in there?

    Ok.. here is an update..

    I am able to download the file from any computer running Windows XP, or Vista.. but not able to download from my Windows 7..

    Any clarification on why this is happenning?

    This is curious.  I've confirmed from my Win7 box that I can download IIS manager from here: http://www.iis.net/extensions/IISManager

    Can you elaborate on specifically which download link is giving you trouble?

    First of all - I am running Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit (Evaluation Edition).

    I am using the following link : http://www.iis.net/go/1626

     

    I get the following error:

    The link provided by Jeff (www.iis.net/1626/ItemPermalink.ashx) also leads to the same location, and same error.

    I did not try the Web Platform installer.

    1 more update, which I may need to put on asp.net community is - that I am not able to stream the HOW-DO-I video tutorials also. It just shows the "visual clue" on the video screen. When went to download the video, it also gave me the same "File Not Found" error.

     

    If possible, please try to stream a video from asp.net/learn on Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit.

    Let me know what you find.

    sorry to hear this is giving you trouble.  For the download page, I still can't repro the 404 error you're seeing.  We've tried two different browser/os combinations with machines on different network connections.  It really sounds like it could be a network issue on your end.  Can you download IIS Manager from the direct download links here:  http://www.iis.net/extensions/IISManager??

    I'm also not reproing the error you describe with video not playing from asp.net/learn...

    Thanks Pete for all the help..

    Looks like I have issues with any download which is there on Microsoft Network.

    I could not download SQL Server Management Studio Express, any IIS downloads, any ASP.NET downloads, and even plugins for Windows Media Player.

    If it was a network problem, I should have received "Access Denied" or similar error. But I always get the "File Not Found" error with details to the file location in some inetpub/wwwroot folder on your servers. Even, I am using my own personal internet connection, and have no firewall rule.

     

    Again, when I try the above link (http://www.iis.net/extensions/IISManager), I get the same "File Not Found" error with the following file location:

    There is some issue with Windows 7, which is causing this. Please let me know that you tried the download on a Windows 7 Ultimate Evaluation Edition.

     Hi Pete,

    I noted something. I am getting the following error code : Error Code0x80070002 in the Error details.

    I searched net and found the following:

    http://www.updatexp.com/0x80070002.html

    May be this is the cause of my error. I may need to fix the Windows update.
