WPI Launches but never shows anything to install

When I launch WPI 2.0 RC on one of my machines, it shows the "Please wait while we load..." message, but never shows anything.  I checked Fiddler, and there's not even any traffic going out to the net.

Any ideas on how to debug this?  it works OK on other machines, just not this one.

Since I know someone will ask, here's my info

    • Windows 7 RC 64-bit
    • Office 2010 Tech Preview
    • Visual Studio 2010 Beta
    • Visual Studio 2008 SP1

    Thanks!

    Chris

Re: WPI Launches but never shows anything to install

    Hi Chris,

There is  a known issue with the current build where if we fail to read Performance counters the UI will hang in this state. Typically this is accompanied by Perflib or Microsoft-Windows-LoadPerf   errors in the event logs. If you see these you can try "lodctr /r" from an elevated command prompt to fix these.

Let us know if this helps.

    Thanks Richard
