web.config cannot write configuration file

Hello,

I am trying to use URLrewriter for my ASP site. When I try to add through URL Writer it says:

Filename: web.config file Cannot write configuration file. I uploaded web.config file on the server. But it still has the problem. What could be the reason?

Suvi,

Before adding a rule, can you verify that the site is up and running and there are no conflicts between applicationHost.config and web.config (like duplicate entries) and that web.onfig is not read-only?
