    IIS 7.0 problem

I apologize even before I start this question, so please forgive me. I am JUST  a casual user of the internet. I am not a webmaster?? not an administrator, and not proficiant in any computer lingo.

I HAVE A BIG PROBLEM    I used to be able to get onto a website after haveing downloaded their software. One day it just did nothing, I went into control panel and add/remove programs I tried to repair it it would not work. So I knew I had to uninstall it and then reinstall it.

However when I tried to reinstall it I keep getting an error  http 404 error  ....see IIS 7.0 web administrator needs to etc, etc.   I've called the folks that run and take care of this site but they keep saying it is my problem and I have a firewall, or need to clean out my cookies.

When I read the explanation for the http 404 error I AM UNDERSTANDING that it is the WEB'S ADMINISTRATOR'S END  and something about them having to be using IIS 7.0 version.

I really like this site, and their program I downloaded but I've sent screen shot of error message and explanation, and they still say they do not know what I am talking about.

I have tried to read about IIS 7.0 and tried to find out if it is something I need to install on my computer in order to download and use this site, but I don't think it is meant for me the USER of thier site to install in order to download their site from their link.

Any help in understanding what is going on, or how I or this site can understand or correct the http 404 error would e appreciated

    Re: IIS 7.0 problem

A 404 is on the server side, nothing you can do about it.  I'd contact the vendor of the software, explain the situation and hopefully you'll get a response.  I'm not sure what else you can do.
