    Web Platform Installer issue Active Directory

    SQL Server Express 2008 with service pack1 did not install

     Network Service or Local Account is not permitted for the SQL Service on a Domain Controller, specify a diffent account

     I am running server 2003 Enterprise Edition and as the admin. Can someone help with this problem

    Maybe this is not a Web Platform Installer issue as it seems to downloaded correctly. It just seems to have a problem installing SQL Server Express 2008 on my Active Directory. I had a look for information about installing SQL Server Express 2008 correclty in a Active Directory but didn't find best practices. Maybe someone could point me to this information

    K-vic,

     Per the error it seems you are trying to install SQL server on a Domain controller and this is not allowed if using Network Service which is the default account.  The WebPi installer does not provide switches to change this so here is a link where you can download the installer separately and  provide switches to change the service account.

    Richma Thanks for the advice, I was hoping to fine some documentation on best practices and you have pointed me in the correct direction
