I have followed the instructions for "Configuring Remote Storage" found here:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/howto/articles/SourcingRemoteContent.aspx
This system is running Windows Server 2008 Service Pack 2 with Windows Media Services Version 9.5. The Windows Media machine is joined to a domain while the source machine is running Windows Server 2008 in a workgroup. (This same configuration worked previuosly when all machines where running Windows Server 2003)
From the server, I opened Windows Media Services and navigated to my publishing point. On the source tab, I CAN view all of the files on the remote machine. Unfortunately, when I attempt to test the stream from within the Windows Media Services console the following message is displayed:
"Windows Media Player cannot access the file. The file might be in use, you might not have access to the computer where the file is stored, or your proxy settings might not be correct."
I have not seen this behavior previously on systems running Windows Server 2003. Your comments / suggestions are appreciated.
