    SQL Server 2008 Management Studio Express

    I cannot install it, the error message: "This produc cannot be installed because a product that it depends on did not install successfully".

    I tried to install the microsoft visual studio 2008 trial verson but could not do it too.

    Please give me advice. Thank you.

    Based on the information that you are unable to install VWD 2008 SP1 using webpi as well, I think you might have a previous version of Visual Studio or Visual Web Developer (RTM?) on the machine.

    Can you uninstall a previous VS or VWD version and then try again?

    Quick question - When you tried to install VWD SP1 using webpi, did you get any error message from WebPI?

     Hi Nitasha, yes I have more errors, fail:

    1) windows powerShell

    2) SQL server express 2008 with service pack 1

    3) SQL server 2008 management studio express

    This issue sounds similar to the one reported in another thread: http://forums.iis.net/t/1159024.aspx

    To be sure, you can also send along webpi log files to webpi@microsoft.com and we will help analyze and fix the issue for you.

    Meanwhile, please uninstall Powershell from your machine (Add/Remove programs in control panel should have Powershell listed), and then retry the SQL Server 2008 Management Studio install using WebPI.

    I don't see Powershell, and i sent the log file for service pack 1 to webpi email. thanks
