    WPI 2.0 RC: Handling of 301 redirect errors still broken (Gallery can't install)

    I just upgraded from the 2.0 beta to the RC.

    Still can't install Gallery through WPI.

    It still barfs on the 301 redirect link provided by the SourceForge servers.

    I too am experienceing the same 301 problem that i had with the Beta release and still have with the RC release, It will be fantastic when this gets fixed.

    I just wanted to let you know that this issue you are all seeing is a bug in Web PI that we are tracking with a fix for our next release.  In the meantime though I am actively trying to find a URL to the Gallery package that doesn't return a 301.

    So please keep letting us know by posting on this forum if you have this issue.  It will be fixed in our next release but in the meantime I'm hoping to use a URL that doesn't return a 301.

    This one is the real download location to which I am redirected (I am in The Netherlands).

    http://kent.dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/gallery/gallery-2.3-iis.zip

    It's not nice to point directly to a specific mirror but it may be an option until the 2.0 final is released ? Full list of worldwide mirrors can be obtained from SourceForge as well.
