    iis7 differences?

Our office is getting ready to upgrade from a vps to a full blow server. Currently we have been running with a Windows 2003 web edition with IIS6. This has worked well for our sites and our small applications. Our host Server Intellect has the options of providing a Windows 2008 Web  Edition with IIS7. I know the move is on for Windows 2008 with IIS7, we are just wondering what are the major differences between the two and how will it effect our sites. This is a managed server and for the most part our office dosent really maintain the server so we just want to know if it will help us in the future and serve the websites faster and offer more security?

Here are a few good references about what's new in IIS7 or compared to IIS6:

    http://learn.iis.net/page.aspx/110/changes-between-iis6-and-iis7-security/

Short story: IIS7 is more secure, in part due to the new modular architecture, and has some handy new features - the extensibility and breadth of feature offerings allow you to do a lot of different things. It should be a good experience for what management/maintaining your office will be doing.  I'm afraid I don't know about the performance, but perhaps someone else can speak to that aspect of IIS7!
