    URLScan on Server Core

Hello, Any way to deploy URLscan manually on a Windows 2008 core server build, installs ok on a Windows 2008 standard server, both being 32-bit builds. The URLscan.msi file gives access denied on the core server version. TIA, Shamus

Have you tried manually copy the DLL to the server core box, connect to the server core box using IIS Manager from a remote full service system and configuring URLScan.

Thanks for your answer. Nope but will try, wondering is the program install more than adding a .dll. I am using appcmd to configure IIS at this time.

The installer is what is blocking you on server core. You can copy the .dlls to the right location and register your extension with IIS using appcmd and you should be able to use it. Please let us know of your experience on getting this running on server core.

    Thanks.
