Request Failed – Response status code is 404

Hi, This is the log collected below. I found the “http404” response while the user “schluem” trying to access the website hosted at 272.213.207.120(shown below) from another portal. The count of this 404 error sometimes crossing 50,000 . Could you please suggest what is the exact category of reason for this 404 error? And the resolution for the same. Hello,

This means "HTTP Error 404 - File or Directory not found". It seems that the user tries to execute a open file or command which is not exists.

Hi,Thanks ..Thats true....But the file or directory is in the right location. It is not happening all the moments but occurring intermediately I mean within certain intervals.Regards,PradeepB

Hi,

This log is different with the typic IIS log. Could you post the relevant IIS log file entries here? IIS log file located in the %systemdrive%/inetpub/logs/logfiles directory by default. The sub status code included in the IIS log will indicates a more specific cause of this issue.

Hi Tang,

Thanks for your sugession.Here Iam posting another couple of logs of same category.Apart from HTTP 404 we also facing a lots of HTTP 500 ,403,401 ,Request timeout exception and socket .timeout exception.

Could you please suggest for the possible resolution on the same?

Hi ,

I am posting a couple of examples more.Could you please suggest for the possible resolution on the same ?Apart fro 404 we getting 500,403 and request timeout exception and socket timeout exception as well.As the nos are huges some tens of thousands also.
