    FTP 7.5

    Hi,

I'm having a bit of a problem here. I'm trying to install FTP 7.5 and I continually get the following error:

COM+ Catalog creation failed with error 0x80070422. Distributed Transaction Coordinator Service may not be running.

Now I know the error seems like it tells me exactly what is wrong but the DTC service IS running. I found another post here and as suggested I set the service to delayed start and it's made no difference what so ever. I have even tried a magic reboot :)

If anybody wants to see the install log just let me know.

Thanks in advance for any advice

    Re: FTP 7.5

Hi, I have exactly the same problem... In a previous Post I asked how to uninstall the 'normal' FTP version which came with the DVD. With that help I finally succeeded in uninstalling that version. So I thought everything was clear now to proceed with FTP 7.5. I downloaded it 4 days ago, on the 22nd of May : ftp7_x64_75.msi So it's not the 32bit version, but the 64bit version I'm referring to... Whatever I try, I get the same COM+ 0x80070422 error message described above. Indeed, the DTC service is running, I even restarted it, and even restarted the server. I searched all possible web pages with '0x80070422' but no solution relates to FTP. Therefore I presume this is a whole new problem, may have something to do with the downloaded version itself, may be only relating to 64bit. Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Good news!!!

Obviously make sure the DTC service is running but then start the System Event Notification Service. That should solve the issue and you should be able to install FTP 7.5 :)

Please let me know if that solves the problem for you then I'll mark this as the solution.

For me that didn't fix the problem. I'm totally frustrated because I've tried all of the fixes and I'm still getting the COM+ Catalog Creation failed message! I need a fix LOL.
