IIS Shared hosting and C:\ permissions

What are the minimum permissions an IIS 7.0 worker process should have on the C:\ drive, and it's subfolders?

We are in the process of setting up a shared hosting environment, where each individual site is ran with it's own application pool and an identity of it's own system user. The site root paths are on another drive.

What permissions and on what folders on the C:\ system drive would I need to set, assuming that the rest of C:\ has full denied permissions?

Look for Wrox's new book Professional IIS 7 in your local bookstore, or order now at Amazon.com

    That does not help, unfortunately.

An article about the necessary permissions on C:\ would be helpful... I found one for IIS 5/6, but much has changed since.

    Hi,

Unfortunately, we currently do not have document of the default permissions for IIS7.0. But  the default permissions for IIS7.0 is similar to the IIS6.0’s. With IIS7.0, the IIS_IUSRS built-in group replaces the IIS_WPG group and the  IUSR built-in account replaces the IUSR_MachineName account.

Below are the articles about IIS6.0 default permissions and IIS7.0 built-in account changes:

I hope this information helpful for you.
