How to set application pool through manifest.xml

     Hello,

I am trying to set up my application in order to make it installable by WebPI. I read this article and finally got my application installable. However, I want it to work under Classic Application Pool, and I don't know how to do it.

    Regards,

    Hi Dilyan,

Great to hear that you followed the guide and got your app packaged for WebPI installs! If you have any feedback about the guide itself, we'd love to hear about it.

If I understand correctly, you want a way to specify that the app needs to be running in an app pool that uses Classic mode (presumably because you have some functionality that doesn't work in Integrated mode)?

If that's the case, we don't have a way to do this today. What might help is understanding the things that are breaking in Integrated. If it's config, there's a really simple way to fix web.config so that it runs peacefully on IIS6 and also IIS7 in Integrated mode.

    Thanks,

     Hello,

I have already posted some feedback on the Web Platform Installer forum. I will give more details when I test the installation more thoroughly and see if there are more problems.

Just somethig I didn't mention - if you provide a link to the known issues in the article, you could improve a packager's expericne, in my opinion. I found them, but it was just before I gave up (that timezone thing confused me - my guess is that it has something to do with security).

    Keep up the nice work!

    Regards,
