    webPI 2.0 IIS will not install

    I've used LAMP stacks in the past for developers, and I'm interested in the IIS solution.  However, the IIS will not install for me on webPI 2.0.   It lists XP as a supported OS.  We plan on placing these on netbooks with XP home.  I'm wondering if it supports home.  Here is a copy of my log.

    Sorry for the confusion on this, but IIS does not install on Home Editions of XP and Vista. There is a bug in WebPI that the installer still advertises IIS even on Home Editions. This issue will be fixed in teh next release of WebPI.

    Hi gburus,

    It looks like .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 failed to install which caused a number of other failures.  If you are still seeing this issue can you try installing just .NET Framework 3.5 SP1, you can find it under the Web Platform tab and "Tools and Frameworks".  This install may also require a reboot that you should accept to continue installing other tools. 

    Let me know if that allowed you to finish installing the products you wanted.

    From what I can gather from the internet, IIS definitely won't install on XP Home, but it certainly should on Vista Home premium: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc754752(WS.10).aspx Is there a particular reason why you suggested otherwise?
