Thanks, but that doesn't help either.
It's not about MVC, it's about the publishing of a web application from within VS2008 to an IIS7.
I found different posts of people with the same problem (it seems to be an authorization problem mainly) but all the answers to this posts and all the links to articles of Microsoft or blog posts didn't provide a satisfying (working) solution.
I tried so many different things and read so many different stuff on the web but nothing helped to solve that problem. You should think a task as publishing a web application to a web server would be as simple as a mouse click but the reality looks totally different. Very disappointing.
I am looking for a receipt like
You need to install this and this and this.
Then you have to do this and this.
Take care of this and this.
You need to configure this and this.
An additional disadvantage is that the UI of the IIS Manager changed completely and is ... let's say not very intuitive (to formulate it friendly :)
It's a really frustrating experience with this IIS7.
Please, if you know the ultimate guide to publish to IIS7, let me know about it.
Or if you know a small thing like a special configuration trick or a special rights configuration that one needs to know for publishing purposes, please let me know about it.
Thanks in advance and kind regards,
Gerald
