  Windows Media Service avi problem Reply Contact Hi all, Nowadays we are dealing with streaming videos via Media Service of Windows Server 2003.To be honest, it has eased our work and let us stream videos without pain. Although they (i mean microsoft) say that Media Service supports file types such as  ".wav, .wma, .wmv, .asf, .avi, .mpg, .mp3, .bmp, and .jpg." ;we couldnt manage to serve videos with file type avi. It works fine with other videos,however it doesnt work when we try to watch a video with an url like "mms://myserver/funnyAdvertisement.avi".Unlike it works for an url like "mms://myserver/otherAdvertisement.wmv" Do you have any idea about that?It would be great if u can help me.   Thanks in advance

  Re: Windows Media Service avi problem Reply Contact Hi, gkhniis, WMS supports streaming of .asf, .wma, .wmv, .jpg, .jpeg, and .mp3 file types.  Unfortunately, it does not support .wav or .avi files.  Please see http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc731194.aspx for more information.  If you don't mind me asking, where did the quoted file types come from?  If that list is on a Microsoft site, I will get it corrected.
