    Cocurrency Issue in IIS for Dot NET

    I have prepared a webservice but when I am deploying it on IIS getting Concurrency Issue.

     IIS is not able to maintain concurrent sessions for multiple users.

    The response time is getting increased if the users are increased.

    Is it coding Problem or IIS configuration Issue?

    any help will be appreciated..

    My guess is that it's a coding issue.

    +1 on the coding issue.

    How are you handling sessions?  What type of info are you storing?

    I have a similar question.

    I deployed a simple Hello world webservice(simple asmx in C#) in IIS 5.1 on XP and tested with 1,2,5,and 8 concurrent users.

    While I can see corresponding concurrent connections in perfmon, the avg response time seems to be linearly increasing with number of users.

    Is there any configuration on IIS required for it handle concurrent threads? Is there any application level configuration required?

    Thanks for the help

    Hi,

    IIS 5.1 on XP is limited by default to 10 concurrent connections so you will more than likely experience problems if you try to test an application on XP :

    I am not able to get even 2 Concurrent Users response at the same time.

    I have both IIS 5.1 and IIS 6.0. In IIS 6.0 I have used application pooling still facing same issue.

    The web Service is just a simple Hello World

    Hi,

    Its almost impossible to diagnose anything based on the information provided. Do you get an error of any kind ?

    The Code of the webservice is :

    using System;

    using System.Data;

    using System.Web;

    using System.Collections;

    using System.Web.Services;

    using System.Web.Services.Protocols;

    using System.ComponentModel;

    namespace Test

    {

    /// <summary>

    /// Summary description for Service1

    /// </summary>

    [WebService(Namespace = "http://tempuri.org/")]

    [WebServiceBinding(ConformsTo = WsiProfiles.BasicProfile1_1)]

    [ToolboxItem(false)]

    public class Service1 : System.Web.Services.WebService

    {

    [
    WebMethod]public string HelloWorld()

    {

    return "Hello World";

    }

    }

    }

    IIS 6.0 Settings  -

    Used Application Pooling while deploying the published version.

    Using Dot Net 2.0.50727 version for the Web service.

    machine.Config Settings -

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
