  ISAPI Rewrite / Gridview Post-back Issue Reply Contact Hello, I've installed Helicon's ISAPI Rewrite filter on IIS 6 to correct canoncalization issues; i.e.: Redirect http://mysite.com to http://www.mysite.com and Redirect http://www.mysite.com./Default.aspx to http://www.mysite.com While the redirections work, I have a Gridview control on Default.aspx and when a record is selected, a postback occurs (naturally) which of course is just redirected to the Default.aspx instead of the results page. I'm sure that this issue has come up on this forum before but could not find a posting.  Any idea on how I can correct this? Best regards, Louis

  Re: ISAPI Rewrite / Gridview Post-back Issue Reply Contact I guess I'm not explaining the problem correctly.  I've installed Helicon's ISAPI filter on IIS 6.0 to remove the canonicalization issues from my websites.  I'm using this filter to redirect Default.aspx to the root to eliminate duplicate content.  While the filter redirects properly, when you select a record in a Gridview control embedded in Default.aspx, the page postsback and Default.aspx is re-rendered as opposed to redirecting via query string to the results web form. I finally reached someone at Helicon and they are trying to help me but if you know of a fix I'd really appreciate it. Best regards, Louis

  Re: ISAPI Rewrite / Gridview Post-back Issue Reply Contact Oh c'mon Tom.  With all due respect, what's the sense of utilizing the asp.net controls if you have to work around them to compensate for third party filters?  If IIS 6.0 had built-in rewrite functionality like Apache, this would not be an issue.   Re: ISAPI Rewrite / Gridview Post-back Issue Reply Contact Good discussion.  This really isn't IIS 6 issue.  ISAPI-Rewrite is the closest to mod_rewrite for IIS 6.   The IIS 7 rewrite module equals the playing field with Apache + we get ASP.NET.  It's a cryptic tool for those who don't know RegEX well.
