Timeout connecting to SharePoint (Internal; works Externally)

    Hey there,

Here's the situation: We have a MOSS 2007 (SharePoint server) running on IIS 6.x . Connections through our internal network on 10.100.x.x work sometimes, but also timeout after 2-5 seconds, other times. The same goes for its assigned name, http://mokie/  . Connections work intermittantly, but at other times, time out.

External connections, to an IP address that points inbound, work fine - always - and never time out.

What are some things we can check to resolve? Any suggestions?

     Thanks!

If I understand this correctly, time out is when internally accessed.

You may want to check DNS/Network connectivity issues. Check if you can reach to webserver by may be another site...does it work when it times out?

Normally how do you fix the time out issue for internal clients? Is there something wrong with internal clients? any firewall/router in between?

    HTH.
