IIS 6.0 not caching. Screens attached

    Hi Guys,

I'm new to IIS 6 and its not caching, im at the point of tearing my hair out.. anyone any idea? I've attached a screenshot and have checked my registry - Uricache is still default 1.

This machine is a dual Quad core with 4gb ram. Server 2003. IIS 6. running mostly ASPX pages. This is purely an application server and running below 10%. my mssql is on a separate server and running close to 90%.

I've set IIS to cache all asp files but the cache dir in "C:\WINDOWS\system32\inetsrv\ASP Compiled Templates" remains empty.

    help!

    screenshot attached.

Does static caching work or is it just a problem with dynamic cahcing?

How did you setup output caching for Asp.Net? Have you used OutputCache directive (like described on http://quickstarts.asp.net/QuickStartv20/aspnet/doc/caching/output.aspx)?

    hmmmm...

How do I check static caches?

I realized my cache folders werent assigned to IIS_WPG / NETWORK SERVICE

my C:\WINDOWS\IIS Temporary Compressed Files is now being filled with gzip htms but my C:\WINDOWS\system32\inetsrv\ASP Compiled Templates still has jack.

it seems ASP 2.0 is caching. see attached image below

Activated outputcaching on the application level. helps alot but the general first byte load is still bonkers.

I have another site of the exact same application on the same app server but has a database much smaller. load times for this website is 1/2 of my main. daym, sql is a ***.
