Installing IIS on Windows XP Pro Service Pack 2

    Hey Guys,

First of all thanks for running such a wonderful forum. I am new to the IIS/.NET business.

Can you please tell me how can I install IIS 5.1 or 6.0 server(not snap-in tool) on Windows XP Pro Service Pack 2 operating system?

    Thanks in advance,

    Hiren Nagar.

Control Panel --> Add/remove Programs --> add/remove windows components --> Tick Internet Information Services (IIS)

Thanks for your quick reply. I do not have the CD and Internet Information Services option also does not appear in add/remove components window.

You sure you on XP Pro and not XP Home? Only XP Pro got it and you will need to the media CD or the content of the i386 of the CD.

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I do have the XP Pro but I do not have the OS CD to install IIS from. Is there any way out to install IIS on my computer now?

It should appear in the add/remove components section but you will also need the OS CD to install it.
