Check out the Web Application Installer

I'm very pleased to be able to announce the release of the Web Application Installer.  Now you are able to acquire the Web plaform with Web PI and then you can go and install some of the most popular PHP and ASP.NET apps with Web AI (wordpress, drupal, and more!).

We did not include XP/Windows Server 2003 support because we wanted to focus on making a great installation experience for Vista and Windows Server 2008.  Thank you for the feedback this helps us with our future planning.

Does any way to extend the Web Application Installer?  Can I configure my own web application on this tool?

There is currently no way for you to extend the Web AI.  However, if you feel there are signficant apps missing please provide this feedback either on this forum or the Web Application Installer forum.

Re: Check out the Web Application Installer

Do you plan to offer this feature in the further version?

I'm interested in that feature as well. It is not very practical to wait for you to implement support for a custom application. Without that, the installer is somewhat useful. Any plans?

Re: Check out the Web Application Installer

Thanks for your feedback! We're looking at ways to enable the community to package applications to be installed through Web AI and through the Web application gallery. To get a head-start, you may want to check out http://www.iis.net/extensions/WebDeploymentTool More details coming early next year...
