I hope some knows something about this.
I have a Win2k3 file server running IIS 6.0. Users need to
access this server with FTP so I have created an FTP site. I have created
half a dozen Virtual Directories on this site that are mapped to various
folders on this machine. All of the virtual directories are working fine
except for one. I have quadriple checked that all six virtual directories are
setup exactly the same way. The NTFS permissions (on the non-working directory)
allow Domain Users full control and the owner is Administrators just like all
the others. The one notable difference is that this one virtual directory is
rather large; 330GB in size. I don’t know if its size may be a factor or not.
When I try to access this share from within our network with
ftp using Windows Explorer,
I get a login prompt and then eventually the following
error:
FTP Folder Error – An error occurred opening that folder on
the FTP Server. Make sure you have permission to access that
folder. Details: The operation timed out.
On the server, the following event is logged:
Source:
MSFTPSVC Event ID:
10 Description: User <username> at
host 192.168.0.229 has timed-out after 120 seconds of inactivity.
If anyone has any ideas, I would much appreciate any
input. Thanks.
