To give some background, I just moved my IIS6 server to IIS7. Easy as our pages and web structure was very simple. All I did was move my inetpub, republish the site in IIS7, Installed the new FTP role, Installed SharePoint v3 and fixed a small issue with the database not working because my IIS7 runs in x64, and a few other tweaks. Now everything is working.I replace out the old server with the new one but...
The web admin uses Frontpage 2003 to update the site, and uses the FPSE to do this. Now it will not work.
I get a error telling me the server doesn't have Share point Services installed.
From what I have read, the SharePoint v3 is the equivalent to FPSE in IIS7. What am I missing? Also, what would they lose by publishing it via FTP? I am a Server Admin, not a Web Dev, so I am not sure that any fuctionality would be lost, but I do not know for sure.
Thanks for your help.
