    ARR+shared configuration

i've set up 3 machines...one to do the arr routing plus 2 to do the load balancing(each on their own machine)....and those 2 have shared configuration enabled using a shared folder.

the problem is...that after i update the configuration on one of them...it all goes to hell.the configuration files get screwed up...as if the 2 servers can't actually share the configuration and end up messing the config file up.

has anyone else had this problem...and is it better 2 just give up and setup every website twice on both the servers?

the shared configuration sounds like a real time saver...but if everything gets screwed(i am now again unable to go back to normal configuration because you can't uncheck that until the management tools actually load the previous configuration...which is offcourse...fscked.)

Sorry, it's taken so long to follow up on this.  Were you able to sort out what the problems were?

In my testing, I use shared configuration and it's been working pretty well.  As you had indicated, it is such a time saver since you only need to make the changes once.  Also, adding additional web servers is a simple 3 step process:

    1. Provision the new web server.
    2. Configure the server to use the shared config.
    3. Add the new server to the server group in ARR.

Let me know if you are still experiencing problems.
