    FastCGI process exited unexpectedly

    Hi I'm a neophyte so please pardon what may seem like basic stuff. I am having a problem with FastCGI stopping for what seem like no real reason.  It works for a while and then following a configuration change PHP.ini it stops. I get an HTTP error 500.0 error.If I run a PHP - info from command prompt it seems to be running but I try the same thing in a script I get the error.IIS unable to access web.config.  Solution proposed is to verify the NTFS permission for web.config.

     What now?  Any help would be appreciated.

    Are you running IIS6 or IIS7? Are you getting error only for php requests or for other content types as well? Is the content on UNC? What is the application pool identity?

    Can you pls answer other questions as well?

    Are you getting error only for php requests or for other content types as well? Is the content on UNC? What is the application pool identity (default?) ?
