    IIS Reports feedback

Hi, I am not sure whether I should have create new thread for each issue, but here is my experience:

    1. - When selecting Web Server\Site Traffic, I get an error: Failed to compare two elements in the array (my regional options are set to Czech, which could cause this). EDIT: on my other sites it works so this isn't probably related to culture settings.
    2. - Make the table horizontally scrollable, give a tooltips to the entries or allow to copy them, as they usually don't fit on the screen (neither do they on the chart).
    3. - I would definitely like to have separate reports for applications, not only at site level (the more when applications are in different pool). Possibly including the IIS reports icon in any (virtual) directory and filtering the reports based on its path...?
    4. - Some more configuration or filtering would be nice, like setting the maximum number of rows per report category (and allow all rows)..
    5. - Anybody thinking about making these stats accessible from web?

How is the Web Server\Users Accessed supposed to work? Can I interact with this anyhow when eg. using Windows Live authentication?

Is there any way how could I build my own reports and use this IIS tool to present them? You now some XLST, XPath or anything to give to the engine :)

Thanks, otherwise it is very cool piece of work!

Cool, we're glad you like it.

Here is a document for creating custom reports for IIS Reports:
    http://learn.iis.net/page.aspx/464/walkthrough-for-creating-an-iis-report/

I think that the individual applications will show reports specific to the application themself.

    Thanks for the feedback!

Hi, thanks for the article about creating custom reports, cool.

Well I cannot see the IIS Reports icons in the application's home, just in the site's home.

Is there anything I can test for you to find out why is the comparison failing?

    Re: IIS Reports feedback

I actually get Object reference not set to an instance of object error as well, eg. in Web Server\Site Traffic by Day Of Week.

rlucero, the article you referenced actually misses the TestReportingFeature class. And also, is there any documentation to this SQL syntax or what it is?

To provide some feedback on the extensibility: Well I have not fallen in love with the model, it just seems too complicated (and maby old, too) to me. The other story is the COM log parser, which really is a pain for .NET developers to work with. I hope it will get better.

Anyway, I will have to create completely separate module for my statistics, because the current definitions are not flexible enough (I mean the table and chart) for me.

Still I consider the reports extensibility to be a big step forward, keep going! ;-)
