Dreamweaver and WebDAV Authentication Issues IIS 7

I am running Server 2008 with the latest release of the WebDAV extension.

Using Dreamweaver 8 or Dreamweaver CS3, I am unable to connect to my server via WebDAV unless I disable Anonymous authentication, and enable Basic authentication.

If Digest or Windows authentication is enabled, I get an unauthorized message from Dreamweaver.  I ran WireShark, and the server is responding with a 401 - Unauthorized page.

     A few more details:

    • I am using an Active Directory domain account, so Digest authentication should work.

    • Using another WebDAV client, such as WebDrive, I am able to connect via both Digest and Windows authentication, so I know they are working.

    • I have used my user account in the form Domain\UserID and UserID@Domain; neither work in Dreamweaver.

    • The domain account works fine via Basic authentication, but of course the password is in plain text.

    • I have tried connecting both to the root of the site, as well as a subfolder within the site with WebDAV enabled, which does not work.

    • My AD domain forces NTLMv2 -- could this be an issue?  I do not have the ability to disable NTLMv2, or I would try it.  Although I would think that this would not affect Digest authentication.

So, does anyone have any ideas on changes that could be made to the server to allow Dreamweaver to work?  Surely someone else has tried this already...?

    Thanks for any ideas.

    Steve
