    Hi,

Can someone tell me where can i get the HTTP Response Header feature in IIS 7 in the UI.

I need to add some custom header settings.

     Thanks in advance.

    Hello,

Although there is no IIS 7.0 UI for HTTP Response Headers, you can still use this feature by directly editing the XML configuration file, using WMI or Appcmd.exe. For more information about HTTP Response Headers, see http://technet2.microsoft.com/WindowsServer2008/en/library/37283911-0b7f-40ef-9cad-7ba05425e7e71033.mspx?mfr=true on the Microsoft TechCenter site.

Another alternative is that you could install the Admin Pack from (http://www.iis.net/downloads/default.aspx?tabid=34&i=1682&g=6).

The administration pack comes with a feature called "Configuration Editor" that will let you configure all sections in the config files, even the ones that do not have their own UI page.

     HTH

I'm pretty sure that if you install Service Pack1 you will get the HTTP Response Headers UI feature in Windows Vista SP1. Windows 2008 already includes the UI feauture.

Why would the Response Headers UI feature be missing from the UI?  Its a really useful feature... no wonder I cant find stuff in the IIS7 UI, its gone! :)

Re: HTTP Response Headers in UI of IIS 7

Some UI features were not completed for IIS 7 running on Windows Vista. More work was put into the features themselves. The administration of some features was considered less useful for a developer computer.  For instance, there was no UI available for configuring the logging feature on Windows Vista until Service Pack 1.  It seemed less likely that developers using IIS 7 on Windows Vista would need to analyze log files as much as they would on Windows 2008 Server. Obviously the UI for these features were added to service pack 1 of Vista as they were completed for Windows 2008 Server anyway.

As stated, there is also some functionality added to the admin pack which allows you to edit configuration directly from the UI -- even if there is not a UI module provided for the configuration section in question.

     I hope this helps.
