My environment is: Windows Server 2003 IIS6 PHP 5.0 MSSQL Server 2005 Whenever I click on a link or navigate to a page beyond my root directory the browser just hangs and then eventually times out.  Any thoughts?

  Re: Can't view pages outside root directory Reply Contact Bummer.  Of course that's the way it's supposed to be, so it's only a bummer for you.  :) Security prevents you from accessing folders outside the web site hierachy.  Using virtual folders solves the problem you have by placing a folder within the hierachy virtually even though physically it lies elsewhere.   Re: Can't view pages outside root directory Reply Contact If your webroot is D:\web and the directories are in D:\web\somefolder then it sounds like it could be a straight permissions issue (make sure all your sub directories are set to inherit your root folder permissions).
