IIS load balancing using Vista or XP

As far as I can find out, Microsoft nlb will only run on Windows Server versions.  We have a web applicaition which will be deployed on networks where we do not provide the server.  We want to provide failover using a virtual IP address when IIS is running on Vista or XP.  Any ideas would be very welcome!

Why would anyone want failover on a workstation?  I don't know any commercial failover systems that will run on a workstation OS, or any Microsoft solutions either.  If your app isn't worth putting on a server, it likely isn't worth worrying about failure either.
