    Classic ASP Support Lifetime

Hello Everybody. I'd like to know till when will Microsoft support Classic ASP. Actually I'm starting a commercial product in ASP but I'm a bit reluctant since I don't know till when Microsoft would continue it's support for ASP. Thanks!

Since ASP is part of the OS, its lifetime is tied to OS support.  That means even if ASP is never included in any future OS (extremely unlikely) it is supported as long as Server 2008.  Which is at least until 2018 or so.

Though why you'd start a commercial product in ASP nowdays is a more confusing question.

    Re: Classic ASP Support Lifetime

That's right, now would be the wrong tinme to start something new in classic ASP, especially since all of the current ASP.NET tools can be had for free (and are much more powerful than classic ASP) ...
