Check out this link http://www.bridgeport.edu/sed/projects/cs597/Fall_2002/jishah/web_application_stress.htm , they have used perf counters which i am not able to get.
It looks like they are running on Windows 2000
I am working on windows-xp and could you please tell me how to integrate web farm with WAST.
I'm not certain you have to do anything to integrate webfarm into WAST. You just need to setup your site on the webfarm and point WAST or whatever tool you use to the VIP (virtual IP). The VIP would be on a load-balancer or using NLB.
What is the difference between these two tools.Do they perform same funcionality or different?
They are different. WCAT is the newer stress level tool provided for free. the performance team at Microsoft uses this for stress testing.
What would be the test scenarios for WAST?
If this is a existing web application, you can reply log files. I would also try the most common scenarios. Stress test them 10, 100 times the normal load. If this is a existing web application, you can use performance counters such as Web Service / Concurrent Connections and Requests / Per sec to get some baseline numbers. These numbers can help calculate which numbers to use in WAST or WCAT.
