How do I give anonymous users write permissions on a folder/file

    Hi

I am new to IIS 7 (and to be honest am not exactly a whizz with IIS 6 either so sorry for the basic nature of this question) but I cannot figure out how to set write permissions on a folder so that the anonymous user can upload content to the folder.

The web site that I am configuring is written in Classic ASP with VB Script.

     Thanks for your help.

     Richard

Just give the IIS_USRS group on your machine modify access rghts to the folder you want them to be able to write to.  This is done by navigating to your folder in Windows Explorer, Right-Clicking on the folder and selecting the Security Tab.

Becareful with this setting because this does have security implications and opens your server to a larger group with write permissions.  Make sure that only the folder that you want Anonymous users to write to gets the permissions setting.

    Hi

Further to my previous question... I am hoping that you can help me.

We are trying to set up FCKeditor on this machine and we keep getting the error 103 - You have no permissions to create the folder - from the diagnostic tool.

You can see the errors that occur at this URL:
    http://66.29.196.12/fckeditor/editor/filemanager/connectors/test.html

We tried giving the IIS_IUSRS write permissions and nothing seems to work.

It seems that we are adding all the permissions needed but it is not having any impact.  Could it be that we are should be giving something else permissions here?

Any thoughts that you might have would be welcome.

    Many thanks

    Richard

Due to security settings, I can't view the error (this is a good thing).  Make sure that you configured write access to the correct folder if you are using redirects.
