Classic Programs will not run in IIS5, ASPX and AJAX works fine.

We installed the Microsoft AJAX on our IIS 5 server (can't upgrade -- long story).  The ASPX (.NET) programs and HTML programs run just fine, however, ALL classic ASP programs return the error "An error occurred on the server when processing the URL. Please contact the system administrator."  Any ideas where to look?  We have classic and .NET co-existing in other servers - it's just this one causing problems. Thanks, Geno

ASP Classic and ASP.NET are independent of each other.  Did ASP ever work on this server?  Is the ASP extension still properly mapped?  URLScan in use?  Testing with a Hello World ASP file?

We found the problem.  There was a problem in the global.asa file for that server only.  Since only classis ASP uses the global.asa file, it was the only one with problems.  Thanks, Geno
