IIS 7 and PHP still a failure?

I just spent some serious cash getting up some new Windows 2008 servers for IIS 7 - for all things .NET its great but I have 65 php sites I'd like to move to IIS 7. After giving up with the ISAPI path I went with FastCGI/PHP and getting that working wasn't too bad however I'm finding that most php apps still give problems.

I did install a url rewrite component that uses .htaccess but regardless of that most apps gave problems. It doesn't seem like much has changed from IIS6/PHP.

Is this then a PHP issue or is there still something missing? Is Apache on Windows any better or ....

Am I posting in the wrong place ? ;-) Remember, I want it ALL on IIS please :)

    thanks!

Have you gone through this article to verify that you have everything set up correctly?

Not that one specifically but a couple, I'm sure its all setup correctly since some basic sites in php all work fine. I suspect the real issue is too many larger apps make sure of apache specific things, not that they should but I'm betting that is part of the problem.

My only gripe with IIS 7 is the lack of built in rewriting engine ;-)

Here is a good news update. I decided, screw this and apache ;) I want it under IIS so I started debugging the server and most issues are on the php side, little tweaks here and there.

I now have all my sites working under IIS 7.

    :)
