    Newbie starting out.

hello, I am an iis newbie, I mean a real newbie. I have a project that I want to work on. I want to create a website on my pc for my personal use. The objective is to learn web building, html, css and whatever else.

The target is to have a site that will basically be a database of any thing that I do in MS Office.

I am running XP Pro SP2 with Office 2003 and Frontpage 2003.

I was told I would need to install IIS, which I did, I mean, I just installed it. Now what. Is there any documentation anywhere - on this site? - that will get me started and going in the right direction.

    Many thanks in anticipation.

    Re: Newbie starting out.

    This should get you started:

Open your browser and request http://localhost . That's your IIS server.

The html pages are in c:\inetpub\wwwroot.

Just add one and request it, e.g. http://localhost/test.htm.

To start the IIS Management Console you just have to enter "INETMGR" in the "Run" menu.

    Hope this helps.
