    Hello...I cannot install IIS on a new windows server 2003 sp2 installation. Installation of IIS stops because it cannot find convlog.exe I cannot find convlog.exe on any of the cdroms I have from MS. How would I correct this problem....Thanks.

    Post the full error message.  My guess is it's looking for the SP2 CD.  You can point it to the SP2 installation to find the file.

    Look for Wrox's new book Professional IIS 7 in your local bookstore, or order now at Amazon.com

    Re: cannot install IIS on new windows server 2003 sp2 installation

    Hi. I've got the same problem and a clean install of Windows Server 2003 R2 Service Pack 2. I can find the file convlog.exe on the original install CD-ROM in a folder called AMD64. But then I get the following error message:

    Copy Error

    Setup cannot copy the file AcWebSvc.dll

    Ensure that the disk labeled 'Service Pack 2 CD-ROM' is in the drive selected below, or provide the location where the file can be found.

     I haven't got a seperate SP2 CD-ROM only the Windows Server 2003 R2 w/SP2....

    I have a very similar problem, but I just solved it. I have performed a fresh install of Server 2003 SP 2 and am now trying to get IIS up and running on it. I've tried the installer available via "Manage Your Server" and via the autoplay interface on CD2. The installer starts to run, and then it asks me to install CD2. Of course, CD2 is already in the drive so this doesn't solve my problem. I tried navigating to some lower point in the CD file structure, but that didn't help. I searched all over the internet (including here) but I found no solution. Then, I remember that I am using (well, evaluating) a Microsoft product. So I put CD1 in the drive instead of CD2. This worked like a charm. As an aside, although I have used MS products for years, I usually gravitate toward Apple products because I appreciate the higher degree of polish on most of the products that Apple ships. This experience just re-confirms my low opinion of MS.

     @matt78704

    Matt, thanks.  Like the other guy, I can't believe I didn't try it, but it worked...  Later!
