ASP Application cannot find the MSDAORA.dll driver. 2.8 MDAC on 64bit Windows Server

We are have a problem with a older asp web app.   We have moved over to a new 64 bit Windows server under IIS6.   The 2.8 MAC seems to be loaded.  (comchecker run)  But, the application cannot find the driver.   Additionally, we don't seem to have a reference in the Registry for the MSDAORA.DLL driver.    So, we are assuming we don't know enough about 64bit ver 32bit enviroments.   We have changed the connection to the Oracle provider, however, the recordsets are only returning "it seems" one record.   That has made us go back to getting the MSDAORA.DLL driver working to solve the problem.   We feel the oracle driver route is a whole different can of worms.  Does anyone have any thoughts?  Appreicate any help.

    (cleaning up old posts)

A lot of MDAC/SQL drivers were not supported on Win2k3 64bit edition.  Some support was added in Windows Server 2008; see wikipedia for some good details on the support for Oracle via MDAC:
