I am facing an issue when trying to reuse a SSL certificate with IIS 7 on Windows 2008 Longhorn.
When I newly create a SSL certificate signed by another certificate using makecert and import it to store, it works fine. After I try to delete the SSL certificate using either
netsh http del or httpcfg delete ssl, the commands execute successfully and the certificate is removed from the store. However, when I try to import it again, it fails.
Delete calls -
C:\> httpcfg delete ssl -i 0.0.0.0:443
C:\> netsh http delete sslcert ipport=0.0.0.0:443
Am I missing some thing in deleting the certificate? If not, does this mean that I cannot reuse the same certificate once I delete it from store. Any help on this issue is greatly appreciated

AFAIK, the httpcfg delete ssl syntax only remove the association of the cert with the site's binding. It does not remove the cert from the cert store. You can check the cert via Cert MMC.
