    IIS ftpserver

    Downloaded application ftp7_x86_rco.msi do not work with windows installer 3.1.Can you suggest a better alternative?

    Please give me a useful suggestion.

    What OS you trying to install the ftp server ? you running rc0 ?

    os windows xp.What is rco? I am not running that

    The package you downloaded is for W2k8 RC0 and above... It won't run on XP.

    For xp, use the built-ftp component. go to add/remove windows component in windows setup.

    The built-in FTP service provides upload and download of files.  That is a standard feature of FTP programs.

    If you're looking for an FTP client, not the server, then try Filezilla.  The FTP server you're trying to install is for you to serve files via FTP to others, not for you to download files from elsewhere.

    There is also a Filezilla server, so make sure you get what you need.
