Log Parsing help for a beginer

    Hello.

I would like to ask to all the parser pro's out there if there are any books or any usefull sites *besides logparser.com* that give a good handfull of tutorials on how to use log parser with most of the input and output functions on the program. Reason I ask this is a friend of mines directed me to this site to learn on the How to's of log parsing and how I will be using the program with his database for a video game to send out a readable parse from the video games log file.

The game database im working with is for "The Matrix Online" and he has a old database he was working on for the items and what not with atributes and wishes for me to add those item attributes to the damage parse.

Basicly we are working on making a damage log parser for the game to show what a characters current DPS on a target is from the log file.

And since I felt so glad to help thinking it will be easy and would be just like using one of the old VB's programs to do the work with. I found it was a whole different ball game. So my main question is. Is there anything to help get a beginer in Log Parsing Started on the right track. Even if it is a sentance or "quote" that can help I wil gladly take note..

Thank you for reading and for your insight.

There is a book. Search Amazon.com for "LogParser"

There is also a compiled list from this website on http://linuxlore.blogspot.com/

    Search the page for "LogParser"
